Day Tab — Terms of Service

Last updated: July 24, 2026

These terms apply to Day Tab, a free, open-source Chrome browser extension that replaces your new-tab page with a personal daily dashboard (calendar, to-dos, scratchpad, weather). By installing or using Day Tab you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the extension.

The service

Day Tab is provided free of charge, with no account, no subscription, and no server-side service operated by the developer. All functionality runs in your browser. Optional features connect, with your permission, to Google Calendar (read-only) and to the Open-Meteo weather API; your use of those services is additionally governed by their own terms (Google, Open-Meteo).

Privacy

How Day Tab handles data is described in the privacy policy. In short: no servers, no analytics, no tracking; your calendar data never leaves your browser.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Day Tab only with accounts and data you are authorized to access, and in compliance with applicable law and the terms of the connected services.

Open source and license

Day Tab's source code is available at github.com/wenhongg/daytab under the MIT License, which governs your rights to the code itself.

No warranty

Day Tab is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the extension — including missed events, data loss, or inaccurate weather information. Calendar and weather data are displays of third-party information and may be incomplete or out of date.

Changes

The extension and these terms may change over time. Material changes to the terms will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Termination

You can stop using Day Tab at any time by uninstalling the extension, which removes its stored data. Calendar access can be revoked in the extension ("sign out of Google Calendar") or at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
